A Model 2000 metal shredder has been shipped to Singapore: Chinese heavy equipment opens up the high-end Southeast Asian market.
Recently, a large Model 2000 metal shredder, after undergoing rigorous quality inspection, was loaded onto a ship at Jiangyin Port in Jiangsu Province and is destined for a metal recycling center in the Jurong Island Industrial Park, Singapore. This heavy-duty equipment, weighing 28 tons and with a shredding chamber volume of 3.5 cubic meters, will help Singapore address its growing demand for industrial waste disposal, marking another significant example of Chinese high-end environmental protection equipment expanding into the Southeast Asian market.
Designed specifically for scrapped automobiles, steel structural components, and large metal containers, the Model 2000 metal shredder features dual-motor drive (2×110kW), alloy steel blades, and a hydraulic intelligent control system. It can process round steel with a maximum diameter of 200mm or steel plates of 1.5m×1m, producing uniformly sized metal fragments (≤50mm), facilitating subsequent magnetic separation and smelting. Singapore, as a financial and shipping center in Southeast Asia, has stringent environmental standards despite its small land area. According to the “Singapore Green Development Blueprint 2030,” the industrial solid waste recycling rate needs to be increased to 70%, but traditional shearing equipment cannot meet its demand for efficient crushing of large metal pieces. The purchaser is a leading Singaporean circular economy company. Previously imported European equipment was prone to jamming when processing thick steel plates and had energy consumption as high as 180 kWh/ton. Comparative testing showed that the 2000 model not only reduced the jamming rate to below 0.5%, but also optimized energy consumption to 135 kWh/ton, and extended blade life by 30%, precisely matching its “high efficiency and low consumption” operational goals.
Before shipment, the technical team reinforced the key components of the equipment with anti-corrosion treatments to address Singapore’s hot and humid maritime climate, and provided an English operating interface and remote maintenance platform. Logistics utilized 40-foot frame containers with reinforced bases for transportation, with third-party supervision throughout the process to ensure the equipment was delivered intact after crossing the Strait of Malacca. “The speed of technological iteration in Chinese equipment is astonishing,” a Singaporean client stated during project acceptance. “From parameter benchmarking to customized services, the professionalism demonstrated by Chinese companies has solidified our confidence in long-term cooperation.”
In recent years, my country’s metal shredders have seen significant growth in the Southeast Asian market due to their advantages of “large processing capacity and low operating costs.” The successful export of this 2000-type equipment not only breaks the monopoly of European and American brands in the high-end heavy-duty shredding field but also demonstrates the leap from “Made in China” to “Intelligent Manufacturing in China” through its actual efficiency. With the equipment put into operation in Singapore, it is expected to help process over 50,000 tons of industrial metal waste annually, equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 80,000 tons, further contributing to the green transformation of this “Garden City.”
